Dress Cake or Ball Gown Cake

🎂👗✨ due to its artistic resemblance to an elegant dress. It’s a popular choice for special occasions like birthdays or celebrations with a touch of flair.

Here’s a recipe in grams to create your own stunning dress cake:

Cake Ingredients
250 grams all-purpose flour
200 grams granulated sugar
200 grams unsalted butter (softened)
4 large eggs (approximately 200 grams)
5 grams vanilla extract
10 grams baking powder
2 grams salt
120 milliliters (approximately 120 grams) milk

Buttercream Frosting Ingredients
500 grams unsalted butter (softened)
1000 grams powdered sugar
5 grams vanilla extract
30–60 milliliters milk (adjust for desired consistency)
Food coloring (blue and white for dress design)
Instructions

1.Bake the Cake Layers:

-Preheat your oven to 175°C (350°F). Grease and line the desired round and dome-shaped pans (if you have a ball-shaped pan for the skirt, it’s ideal).

-Cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in eggs one at a time, then mix in the vanilla extract.

-In a separate bowl, sift together the flour, baking powder, and salt. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, alternating with milk.

-Divide the batter evenly among the pans. Bake for 25–30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. Allow to cool completely.

2.Make the Buttercream:

-Beat the butter until creamy. Gradually add powdered sugar, mixing well after each addition.

-Stir in vanilla extract and milk, then beat until fluffy. Divide and tint with food coloring as needed for the dress design.

3.Assemble the Dress Cake:

-Stack the round cake layers with a layer of buttercream between each. Use the dome-shaped cake for the top.

-Carve the cake slightly to shape it into a dress structure, if necessary.

-Crumb-coat the cake with a thin layer of buttercream, then chill for 30 minutes.

-Use a piping bag to decorate with the blue and white buttercream, creating patterns to mimic the folds and ruffles of a dress.
